Forest Felines; Behind the Scenes

You might be wondering where I get all this info that I put into my blog; do I sneak into the author’s secret lair? (no) Am I one of the authors myself? (no). So, where do I get all this info? Here’s the process;

1. Find the info I look everywhere I can for Warriors/ seekers info, mostly other blogs. Then, I search for more info and pictures surrounding the topic.

2. Sum it up I don’t post all of the info I get into a blog post; it would be way too long. So I just get the most important info, put it in the simplest terms, and type it up.

3. Post it Once I’m done typing, I spell check it, make sure I didn’t leave anything out, and click post.

It’s that simple!

New AuthorTracker!!

Here it is;

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year

I hope you had a safe and joyous holiday season, and feel ready for whatever the new year brings. Have you made any resolutions? Last year I vowed to learn something new every month and shared my discoveries with you in each AuthorTracker letter. This year’s resolution is harder to share because it involves me being quieter than usual. I am going to use my mouth and ears in the proportion that they are to each other; in other words, twice as many ears as mouth so twice as much listening! The best stories come from other people’s experiences – it really is true that life is stranger than fiction – and I want to be ready to hear those stories when they come my way. Maybe you’ll have a story of your own to tell me if we meet on my Spring Tour? (Dates and venues coming soon!) If I hear something particularly fascinating or inspiring or just plain weird, I’ll let you know.

We couldn’t let the new year pass without giving you a new book, so look out for the paperback edition of Seekers Book Two: Great Bear Lake which is in bookstores now. Brand new titles to look forward to in the coming months include Seekers Book Four: The Last Wilderness, the first Seekers manga (brace yourself for some incredibly cute bear cub artwork!), another Warriors companion book, Battles of the Clans, and the third Warriors Super Edition, SkyClan’s Destiny. You’ll have to wait until the summer to find out what the mysterious fifth Clan did after Firestar and Sandstorm left, but I promise it will be worth it!

As always, don’t forget to check www.warriorcats.com for news and sneak peeks of the upcoming titles, as well as a chance to chat on the Message Boards. Maybe if we all take a little more time to listen to other people this year, we’ll have some amazing stories to share.

With love and good wishes

Erin x

Site Updates!

New year, new look! In case you haven’t noticed, I changed the site theme, making it what I hope you call “more Warriors-ish” (which half of the people who took the poll requested). Tell me what you think!

Also, I (finally) added more graphics to the graphic page, deleted the useless Question and Fan Fiction pages, renamed the “Medicine Cat Herbs” page just plain “herbs” and added a new page titled books, which will feature all the Warriors/Seekers books in order, along with links to more info.

Also, I will try to start updating at least once a week, so come back often!

Merryful Christmas!

Long Shadows; Now available in paperback!

I know,  I was surprised too. I had absolutely no idea until I saw this;

Oops. I usually try to give some kind of notice, but even I had had absolutely no idea.

Also, HarperCollins has FINALLY added OOTS to it’s book list, but not Ravenpaws Path. Check it out;

I’ve also been meaning to add mroe graphics, but I just haven’t hadthe time yet. My Christmas break doesn’t start until the 24th, so you won’t be seeing more graphics until much after Christmas.

Happy Holidays,

Seedfur

(P.S; che check in here on Christmas Day or Eve for a very special Christmas video that every Warriors fan will love!)

Holiday Updates!

Happy Holidays, everyone! I was just checking the comments on here and realised that I haven’t posted since last month! So I figured I’d make up for the lack of updates by giving this site a MAJOR FACELIFT for 2010 (can you believe it’s almost here?)

Among the updates I have down on my list (it’s an actual list, on actual to-do paper) are temporary, like a special holiday contest and section, along with an end-of-the-year survey. But some are here to stay, like the  guestbook, plus more graphics ( I plan to upload more here and there from now on)

Don’t worry if all the promised updates aren’t here at the time you read this post, I’m working on them and they’ll be up soon! Let’s make 2010 a good year for this blog, one filled with contests, prizes, and much, much more!

Happy Holidays (have to get the Hanukkah blue in here somehow!), Seedfur

P.S: I hope to have 10,000 views by the end of 2010, so tell your friends and let’s make it happen! There will defiantly be a big surprise for al if that happens!

to make Forest Felines a better site!

Official Site Updates!

Woah. HarperCollins completely redid the Official Warrior Cat Site. Check it out!

Speaking of site updates, I added snow to this blog! It will be up until January 4th. Also, make sure to check out the new Question page and make sure your opinion is heard!

New AuthorTracker!!!

Hi everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! And Canadian friends, I’m very, very sorry I forgot to mention your Thanksgiving last month. Do I at least get some brownie points for knowing that you celebrate on a different date? I don’t think many British people know that. :-) To make up for it, I looked up some Canadian Fascinating Facts this month. Did you know that the baseball glove was invented in Canada in 1883? I wonder what distinguished the first “proper” baseball glove? Alas, my page of Canadian Trivia didn’t tell me that.

Enough of baseball! There’s something even more important going on this month – in fact, this very day.
OMEN OF THE STARS BOOK ONE IS HERE!!!
Quick, what are you doing reading this? You should be halfway through The Fourth Apprentice by now (or probably finished, knowing the speed at which you lot read)! So, what do you think of the fourth apprentice’s special power? And did you like the scene when Ivypaw..? How about when Rippletail..? I don’t need to fill in the blanks because you’ll find out soon enough. And as always, we’re genuinely looking forward to hearing your thoughts. We feel incredibly privileged to have such insightful and articulate readers, who sometimes see more in the stories than we see ourselves. It is a delight and an honor to be able to introduce you to the fourth series of Warriors books, and a cast of new characters who will discover the truth about the Prophecy of the Three as well as the darkest secrets of StarClan.

If you haven’t been able to get your own copy of The Fourth Apprentice, don’t forget to give your local or school librarian a nudge because they’ll be able to order it for you! You’ll find an extra treat at the back of the book, too: the first full-length adventure in the Warriors Adventure Game. Hopefully the mini-mission that appeared on www.warriorcats.com in September has given you a chance to set up your group of players, and whetted your appetite for another completely original Warriors story to direct yourselves. There are many, many different options within the adventure, all with a different outcome, so feel free to go back to the beginning and start again once you complete the mission once. :-)

If you’re a regular visitor to www.warriorcats.com, you’ll notice that we’ve made a few changes to the site, starting today. The pages will look very similar, but everything is just a little more streamlined and easier to navigate, with bigger buttons to take you to the Message Boards, www.seekerbears.com, and the Adventure Game. If you haven’t visited it before, check it out! There’s a lot going on, and it’s the best place to catch authentic and accurate Warriors news (because I have to say, the rest of the internet is a hotbed of wild rumours that need to be taken with a VERY large pinch of salt! Like, there are NO Warriors movies in production! Sorry.).

So, do you consider yourself to be a truly dedicated fan? Think you know everything about the world of feral cats and wandering bears? In that case, you need to head to the Official Message Boards for The Warriors and Seekers Fanatic Challenge! Once a week, ChallengeHost will post a trivia question in this brand new forum about the world of Warriors or Seekers. Get those fast fingers ready – the first TEN fans to reply directly to the posted question with the correct answer will receive an exclusive Avatar upgrade. Our Admins will update your current Avatar with some special features, so everyone across the boards will know you are a true Erin Hunter fanatic. For official rules, visit The Warriors and Seekers Fanatic Challenge forum post.

Sigh, we’re just too good to you. :-) Other news is that Cherith has finished the first draft of next year’s Super Edition: SkyClan’s Destiny and it’s looking fabulous! Kate is making inroads into Omen of the Stars Book Three: Night Whispers, and I’m finishing up the storyline for Seekers Book Six: Spirits in the Stars (yay! It has a title!) which Cherith will tackle once SkyClan’s Destiny has been polished to perfection.

Enjoy The Fourth Apprentice, folks. I know it’s been a long time coming, but I really, really hope the wait has been worthwhile.

With love and good wishes
Erin x
